- Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 10:05am: Due to ongoing efforts to address a bedbug issue. Please do not return library materials while we are closed. No late fees will be charged for any items returned after the due date.
- Friday, February 7, 2025 at 9:42am: Abell Pest Control will begin delivery and staging of equipment this evening for the treatment of bed bugs to commence Saturday, February 8, 2025. After the treatment the library will be inspected thoroughly before cleared to re open. There is no exact re open date at this time. The date and time of re opening will be determined by the out come of the treatment and if any further treatment may be required.
- Saturday, February, 8, 2025 at 9:00am: Abell Pest Control has begun to treat the building using both Integrated Pest Management (IPM) solutions and chemical-free heat treatment. This comprehensive method of both solutions will ensure maximum eradication of the infestation. To understand the treatment process more click here. When completed the building will be inspected to ensure it is once again safe for the public. There is no exact re open date at this time.
- Saturday, February, 8, 2025 at 11:27am: As progress is made with treatment, the building is expected to be safe for occupancy Monday, February 10, in the afternoon with staff working to be ready to serve the public on Tuesday, February 11 at 9am. A special board meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 10, at 5pm to be held in the Charles R. & Dorothy L. Ashcraft Community Room.
- Sunday, February, 9, 2025 at 1:27am: Abell Pest Control has completed treatment and inspected for any further contamination. The library will re open Tuesday, February 11 at 9am pending the approval of a special board meeting scheduled for Monday, February 10, at 5pm to be held in the Charles R. & Dorothy L. Ashcraft Community Room.
- Monday, February 10, 2025 at 1:30pm: The library staff has been working to get the library ready to open. A full staff meeting has taken place and new material return procedures have been developed. The library will re open Tuesday, February 11 at 9am pending the approval of a special board meeting scheduled for Monday, February 10, at 5pm to be held in the Charles R. & Dorothy L. Ashcraft Community Room.
- Monday, February 10, 2025 at 6:00pm: The library board met to discuss and approve our Bed Bug Policy. The library will re open Tuesday, Feb. 11 @ 9am. Please note there will be NEW material return procedures. All returns MUST BE placed in the outdoor dropbox OR new dropbox in the lobby entrance. Meeting minutes & Bed Bug Policy will be available at the circulation desk and posted online tomorrow in the am.
